The Syrian president and his wife were infected with Covid-19

On Monday, the Syrian presidency announced that President Bashar al Assad and his wife were infected with the Coronavirus, explaining that their condition is stable and that they will continue their work during the home quarantine period, which will last for two or three weeks.

The presidency posted a statement on Monday, stating:

“After feeling mild symptoms similar to those of infection with the Covid-19, President Assad and Mrs. Asma al Assad conducted a PCR test, and the result showed that they were infected with the virus, knowing that they were in good health and in stable condition, and they would continue their work during their home quarantine period that would last for two or three weeks”.

President Assad and Mrs. Asma, as they wish the safety and well-being of all Syrians and all the peoples of the world from this virus, and they call on all Syrians to continue to follow the precautions and preventive measures as much as possible.

President Assad and Mrs. Asma greet all the medical personnel working on the first lines to confront the virus and reduce its effects on those infected with it.

It’s noteworthy that news from Syria in the recent days were speculating on the absence of the Syrian president presence in media, especially under the tough life situation that the Syrian people is facing.
