The Russian President announces the completion of gas pumping in the second branch of “North Stream-2” in September
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the work of pumping gas in the second branch of the “North Stream 2” pipeline from Russia to Germany will be fully completed in December 2021.
“The first pipeline has been filled with gas,” Putin said during the Valdai International Forum for Dialogue.
In the event that the German regulatory authority allows the export tomorrow, the pumping process will start in the second pipeline the day after tomorrow with 17.5 cubic meters.
He continued, “Until the end of this year, that is, in mid or late December, the technical work will be completed on filling the second pipeline of the “Northern Stream-2″ line, with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters”.
He said: “If we take into account that the deficit in the European market, according to our calculations, will reach 70 billion cubic meters, then 55 billion cubic meters will be enough.
Once the second tube is filled and approved by the German regulator, the next day we will start exporting”.
