The Pentagon denied reports tsalked about reducing US forces in Syria

In response to recent media reports that said: Washington intends to reduce its military presence in Syria, the US Department of Defense confirmed that what is taking place is a periodic redeployment of forces, not a reduction in their numbers.

A Pentagon spokesperson said, “the US troop movements are part of operational requirements and emergency situations, stressing that these movements reflect the flexibility of the US defense strategy and its ability to adapt to changing security threats”.

According to the Pentagon, the United States maintains the ability to rapidly deploy its forces to any region around the world, as needed, as part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at maintaining security and stability.

A few days ago, CBS News reported that the Trump administration is considering reducing the number of its troops deployed in Syria, currently estimated at around 2,000, with the possibility of redeploying them to fewer bases.

However, official US statements have categorically denied any intention to withdraw forces, stressing that the current changes relate only to a redeployment in line with ongoing field assessments.
