The official Israeli Broadcasting Authority: Hamas showed off its strength during the handover of the three female prisoners in Gaza in a symbolic message to show control and strength
The official Israeli Broadcasting Authority said that Hamas presented souvenirs to the three Israeli female prisoners who were released on Sunday, as part of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
The Authority added that the kidnapped women (the three prisoners) were carrying souvenirs that Hamas had given them before they arrived in Israel.
The official Israeli Broadcasting pointed out that the souvenirs included a map of the Gaza Strip, pictures of the female prisoners during their captivity, and a certificate of appreciation.
The Israeli media reported on Sunday that Hamas demonstrated its military control over the field during the handover of 3 Israeli female prisoners in Gaza City, as part of the ceasefire agreement between the two sides.
According to Maariv newspaper, during the handover of the kidnapped women (the three prisoners), the Qassam Brigades (the military wing of Hamas) carried out a military parade in the streets of Gaza, in a symbolic message to show control and strength to the Palestinian and Israeli publics.
In turn, the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, Hamas showed off its strength in front of the cameras, and thousands of Gaza residents gathered around them.
Yedioth Ahronoth added, “There were hundreds of fighters from the Qassam Brigades, who moved freely in vehicles, with weapons in their hands”.
Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli army announced in a statement that it had received 3 female prisoners from the International Red Cross, who were released by Hamas from the Gaza Strip, as part of the first phase of the exchange deal between the two parties.
During the handover process, fighters from the al Qassam Brigades appeared armed, while thousands of Palestinians in Gaza City gathered around them, chanting slogans of joy for stopping the Israeli genocide, and chanting slogans in support of Hamas fighters.
The Israeli female prisoners also appeared in good condition, unlike Palestinian prisoners previously released by Israel, who showed signs of torture, abuse and starvation, while some of them left in a psychologically deteriorated state.
On Sunday morning, a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel came into effect.
The first phase will last for 42 days, during which negotiations will take place to begin a second and then a third phase.
Israel is scheduled to release 90 male and female prisoners, including 21 children, on Sunday, after Hamas released the three female prisoners.
In the first stage, Hamas is scheduled to release 33 Israeli prisoners, male and female, in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, the number of whom depends on the status of each Israeli prisoner, whether he is a military or civilian.
