The Israeli Ministry of Defense publishes a new tally of soldiers killed since October 7
The Israeli Ministry of Defense published updated data on the number of soldiers killed, Monday, stating that 1,152 Israeli soldiers have been killed since October 7, 2023, noting that more than 40% of those killed were under the age of 21.
According to Israeli Ministry figures, 1,152 Israeli soldiers were killed on October 7, 2023, including soldiers from the Israeli occupation army, the Israeli police, the Shin Bet, the head of security, and members of the alert teams who fought in the Gaza Strip, southern Lebanon, and the West Bank.
Of the 1,152 killed, including officers and soldiers, 1,035 were soldiers from the Israeli army, 100 were from the Israeli police, 9 were from the General Security Service, and 8 were from the Prison Service.
According to the Israeli Ministry of Defense, more than 40% of the dead—487—were under the age of 21 and 141 were over the age of 40.
Most of those who fell were male: 1,086 male soldiers and 66 female soldiers, 801 were single men and women, and 327 were married.
Also, 318 reserve soldiers were also killed in the war in various regions, in addition to 283 professional soldiers and 43 members of the alert squad who fell during the October 7 offensive.
Last year, from October 7, 2024, until Monday, October 6, 2025, 262 soldiers were added to the number of those killed in Israel’s wars.
