The Israeli military announced that its Paratroopers Brigade continues to carry out operations in Syrian territory, noting that a raid targeted an old Syrian military site and the confiscation of weapons, including dozens of missiles.

The Israeli military said Saturday that its forces raided a former regime military site in southern Syria this week, destroying and confiscating tanks, armored personnel carriers, and rocket-propelled grenades.

An official statement, “The 210th Brigade, under the command of the Paratroopers Brigade, continues its defensive activities in Syria to eliminate threats directed towards Israel, especially the residents of the Golan Heights”.

The statement added that forces this week raided an old military headquarters used by a unit affiliated with the former regime, where tanks, armored vehicles, and disabled artillery were found, in addition to mortar shells and missiles, which were dismantled and confiscated.

The Israeli army announced last Thursday that a unit from the 474th “Golan” Brigade carried out an operation in the Tsil area in southern Syria, during which weapons were seized and infrastructure described as “terrorist”.

The statement explained that the forces came under fire from militants, so they responded by targeting them from the air and ground, confirming that a number of them were eliminated without any casualties among their ranks.

The statement stated that the presence of these weapons in southern Syria poses a direct threat to Israel’s security, and that the army won’t allow any military threat to be established near its borders.

In a related development, Israeli shelling of the al Jabiliyah Dam forest area, west of Dara’a, early Thursday morning, led to the deaths of nine civilians and other injuries.

The attack sparked a wave of anger and popular mobilization in the region, especially since it’s the first of its kind in such depths.

Earlier, local sources reported clashes between residents of Dara’a province and Israeli forces near the al Jabiliyah Dam, amid an escalation on the ground following raids targeting Homs and Hama airports, and the Scientific Research Center in Damascus.
