The Israeli army spokesman announced that four soldiers were killed after building collapse in the Bani Suhaila neighborhood in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, as a result of an explosive device detonating, Friday morning.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Office said in a statement that four soldiers were killed in the collapse of a building in the Bani Suhaila neighborhood of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, as a result of an explosive device: Major General (res.) Chen Gross, 33, from Magen Yasya, a soldier in the Maglan unit of the Commando Division; Sergeant Yoav Rever, 19, from Warburg Field, a soldier in the Yahalam unit of the Combat Engineering Corps; and two other soldiers whose families have been informed, but whose names have not yet been released.

Israeli Army Radio confirmed that five other soldiers were injured in the attack.

Local media sources in the Gaza Strip reported earlier that four Israeli soldiers were killed when a booby-trapped building collapsed in Khan Yunis, in the south.

Sources also reported on Friday that 11 soldiers were injured, including one critically, and also explained that an attempt was made to kidnap one of the injured soldiers, but it failed.

Israeli forces advanced into areas south of Khan Yunis, amid heavy tank fire and air cover, bombing anyone attempting to move into the area.

Eyewitnesses said these movements coincided with a parallel movement of Israeli tanks in the Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City, amid artillery shelling.

The Israeli media reported that Israeli soldiers were transported dead and wounded as a result of a new attack carried out by the Palestinian resistance in Khan Younis, south of Gaza.

This followed another attack that took place this morning in which five Israeli soldiers were killed.

The al Quds Brigades, affiliated with the Islamic Jihad movement, announced in a statement that it, in conjunction with Hamas’ al Qassam Brigades, had shelled an Israeli command and control center near the Canada Hall southeast of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip with mortar shells.

Circulating footage showed the moment Israeli soldiers were evacuated from Gaza to Beilinson Hospital via military helicopters.

Wounded soldiers were also evacuated from the Gaza Strip to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem, as there was another serious incident in the Gaza Strip… very serious.

Israeli media reported that a very serious incident occurred for the third time in the Gaza Strip on Friday.
