The Israeli army claims arresting a cell affiliated with the Iranian Quds Force in Syria and destroying sites in the Golan Heights
The Israeli army announced on Monday that it had arrested a cell of the Iranian Quds Force in Tel Qudsna, southern Syria.
The Israeli army said in a statement that “based on information obtained from investigations by Unit 504, forces from the Alexandroni Brigade (3rd Brigade) under the command of the 210th Division, in cooperation with the unit’s field investigators, carried out a night operation during which a cell of operatives operated by the Iranian Quds Force was arrested in the Tel Kodneh area in southern Syria”.
The statement stated that for the second time in the past week, the division’s forces carried out a precise nighttime operation during which a number of activists who posed a threat in the area were arrested.
The statement stressed that “the 210th Division’s forces continue their deployment in the area and are working to prevent the entrenchment of any terrorist group in Syria, with the aim of protecting the residents of the State of Israel”.
The Israeli army also announced that it had carried out a preemptive operation in Syria, destroying military sites belonging to the former Syrian regime in the occupied Golan Heights.
The Israeli military released video documenting the entry of its forces into the depths of Mount Hermon—Brigade 810—and stated that it “continues its operations in Syria”.
The statement added, “Forces from the 810th Brigade, under the command of the 210th Division, continue to carry out targeted operations inside Syrian territory… During one operation, a reserve battalion from the 810th Brigade, in cooperation with forces from the Yahalom Unit, removed several military positions belonging to the former Syrian regime in Syria”.
The statement continued, “These points formed the enemy’s forward contact line near the summit of Mount Hermon, and posed a direct threat to Israeli positions in the Hermon sector”.
The statement concluded, “The brigade’s forces continue to carry out preemptive operations in southern Syria to protect the citizens of the State of Israel, and the residents of the Golan Heights in particular”.
