The Israeli army announce the death of the commander of the Southern Brigade of the Gaza Division in October 7 attack
The Israeli army acknowledged the killing of Colonel Assaf Hamami, commander of the Southern Brigade of the Gaza Division, in the attack of last October 7 carried out by Hamas.
The Israeli army said in a statement on X, that Colonel Assaf Hamami (41), the commander of the Southern Brigade of the Gaza Division, from Kiryat Ono, was killed on October 7, and his body was kept in the Gaza Strip.
The statement indicated that officials in the Israeli army notified the officer’s family of his death.
This brings to four the number of bodies of military personnel held by Hamas, all of whom were killed in the October 7 attacks.
With the announcement of the killing of Colonel Hamami, the announced death toll of the Israeli army since the beginning of the aggression rises to 396 people, according to Israeli army data.
On November 28, the Israeli army announced, in a statement published on its website, the names of 3 of its soldiers, saying that they were killed and Hamas keeps their bodies in Gaza.
