The al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas movement, announced that its fighters targeted, at dawn on Sunday, 60 Israeli soldiers by detonating explosive devices east of the Juhr al Dik area in the central Gaza Strip, killing a large number of them.

The Brigades said, in a statement: “At dawn today (Sunday), the al Qassam Mujahideen were able to monitor the concentration of dozens of Zionist occupation soldiers (60 soldiers) inside tents at their positioning point east of Juhr al Dik”.

The statement adds, “Our Mujahideen planted 3 anti-personnel devices in a circular motion around the position, and at exactly 4:30 (02:30 GMT) the devices were detonated against the occupation soldiers”.

“One of the mujahideen advanced to finish off the remaining members of the force, and the mujahideen withdrew to their positions safely after killing a large number of the Zionist occupation soldiers,” the statement continued.

On December 1, a humanitarian truce between the Palestinian resistance factions and Israel ended, concluded with Qatari-Egyptian mediation and lasted for 7 days, during which prisoners were exchanged and limited humanitarian aid was brought into the sector, which is inhabited by about 2.3 million Palestinians.

Since the end of the truce, the Israeli army has attacked more than 400 targets throughout Gaza during the last 24 hours, according to a statement on Saturday.

As a result, nearly 200 Palestinians were killed, bringing the death toll as of Saturday afternoon to 15,207, while the number of wounded rose to 40,650, according to the government media office in Gaza.

Since October 7, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza, which left massive infrastructure destruction and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, according to official Palestinian and UN sources.

While Hamas killed 1,200 Israelis, wounded 5,431, and captured about 239, it exchanged dozens of them during the truce with Israel, which holds more than 7,000 Palestinians in its prisons, including children and women.
