The Israel Defense reveals a new toll of injuries in the ranks of the army since October 2023
The Israeli Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that it has treated about 22,000 wounded military personnel since October 2023.
“Since the beginning of the war in Gaza, about 22,000 wounded were added to the rehabilitation department’s treatment program,” the Israeli Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
“58% of them suffer from psychological injuries, and about 1,500 new requests for treatment are submitted from the wounded every month,” the statement said.
The Israeli Ministry of Defense added that the rehabilitation department cares for 82,400 wounded military veterans, including those injured in previous wars.
“26% of all patients in the department have been infected in the past two years,” Israeli Ministry of Defense said.
