The Public Relations Department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Saturday the arrest of eight agents of the Israeli Mossad in Khorasan Province.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards explained in a statement that the individuals arrested had received training via cyberspace from Mossad agents, and that during the 12-day war, they had sent coordinates of vital and sensitive sites, as well as information related to prominent military figures, to the Israeli intelligence.

The statement also revealed that these individuals were planning and executing operations against civilian and military officials, as well as targeting important centers in the city of Mashhad, before their arrest.

Quantities of raw materials for manufacturing launchers, bombs, explosives, and improvised explosive devices were seized from the detainees, according to a statement by the Revolutionary Guards.

This incident isn’t the first of its kind this month, as on August 9, the Iranian judiciary announced that the Ministry of Intelligence had arrested 20 Mossad spies in Tehran and several other provinces.

The judiciary emphasized at the time that it “will show no leniency toward spies and agents of the Israeli entity,” and that it will issue firm rulings against them “to set an example to all”.
