The Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Army under the leadership of Ansar Allah group, Mohammed Abdul Karim al Ghamari, said on Friday evening that “the Israeli aggression on the capital, Sanaa, won’t go unpunished”.

Ghamari said, “The Zionist enemy’s targeting of civilian neighborhoods in Sana’a won’t go unpunished”.

He stressed that Yemen won’t back down from supporting Gaza, regardless of the extent of the targeting or sacrifice.

He added, “The Zionist escalation in Gaza or against Yemen is not a sign of strength, but rather a sign of impotence and failure to achieve its goals over nearly two years, and will be met with escalation”.

Ghamari praised the steadfastness of the Palestinians in Gaza, which he described as historic, and the fighters of the Palestinian factions, whom he described as heroes who are preparing to inflict heavy losses on the enemy in its escalation against Gaza City.

Earlier on Friday, the Israeli military revealed its attempted assassination of Ghamari and the group’s defense minister, Mohammed al Atifi, during its attack on the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, on Thursday.

“Yesterday (Thursday), we tried to eliminate the Houthi chief of staff and their defense minister, along with senior leaders of the Houthi government, and we are still awaiting the results of the attack,” Israeli Army Radio quoted him as saying on Friday.

The statement added: “The attack was carried out thanks to accurate intelligence information about a meeting of senior Houthi leaders… Within a short period of time, approval was obtained from the political leadership and the Chief of Staff of the Army, Eyal Zamir, and the attack was carried out”.

On Thursday, the Israeli military said in a statement: “The air force carried out a precision-guided attack on a Houthi regime military target in the Sana’a area”.
