The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announces the death of the deputy commander of the Quds Force
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards announced on Sunday, the death of Major General Muhammad Hejazi, deputy commander of the “Quds Force”, after a heart attack.
The commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Hossein Salami, appointed Muhammad Hejazi as deputy commander of the “Quds Force” in January 2020.
Hejazi participated in the Iran-Iraq war in the ranks of the Revolutionary Guard, and assumed command of the mobilization forces between 1997 and 2007.
Hejazi was under sanctions imposed by the European Union in 2011 for violating human rights in Iran, in connection with the suppression of the 2009 protests.
