The Iranian embassy in Abu Dhabi refutes allegations of Tehran’s involvement in the Israeli Rabbi murder

The Iranian embassy in the UAE has categorically denied allegations of Iran’s involvement in the killing of Israeli Rabbi Zvi Kogan, the envoy of the Jewish Chabad movement who also holds Moldovan citizenship.

Kogan’s body was found in the Emirati city of Al Ain, which is about an hour and a half drive from Dubai.

Investigation sources confirm the presence of traces of violence on the body, and evidence of a fight that left some blood in the car, and it’s suspected that he was killed by 3 people from Uzbekistan.

Israeli reports claimed that Iran incited them to do so, which the Iranian embassy in the UAE denied.

The Mossad intelligence agency opened an intensive investigation into the incident and the identity of the suspects.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office announced that intelligence and security agencies in the UAE had found the body of the missing Rabbi Zvi Kogan, and considered the incident “criminal anti-Semitic terrorism”.

Kogan served in the Israeli army as a soldier in the Givati Brigade, and is an assistant to Rabbi Levi Duchman, the chief rabbi of the Jewish community in the UAE.

Kogan was last seen in Dubai on Thursday afternoon, failing to attend scheduled meetings during the day.

Authorities were notified and the incident is being investigated.

For its part, the United States condemned on Sunday the killing of the Israeli-Moldovan rabbi, Zvi Kogan, in the Emirates, and the White House considered his killing a horrific crime.

“This is a horrific crime against all who stand for peace, tolerance, and coexistence,” White House National Security Council spokesman Sean Savitt wrote in a statement.

“It’s also an attack on the UAE and its rejection of violent extremism”.
