German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock expressed her frustration with the impact of sanctions against Russia over the invasion of Ukraine.
Baerbock said in an interview with German journalist and author Stefan Lampe for his book “An Emergency… Governance in Times of War,” which will be published, Thursday: “In fact, economic sanctions were supposed to have economic effects, but this isn’t the case. Because the logic of democracies doesn’t work in autocratic systems of government.
The German Foreign Minister continued, “We’ve experienced that this war cannot be ended with rational decisions and rational measures taken between civilized governments”.
It’s worth noting that Stefan Lampe has accompanied prominent figures in the current government of the Federal Republic of Germany since the day they took the constitutional oath in the Bundestag on December 8, 2021, with his camera crew.
