Germany announced an increase in the value of its humanitarian aid to Ukraine by 100 million Euros, as the Russian war on the country enters its third year.

During a visit to the city of Mykolaiv in southern Ukraine, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said on Sunday that the total value of humanitarian aid provided by her country to the Ukrainian people will thus rise to one billion Euros.

The Green Party politician explained that this money will contribute to supporting residents of Ukraine in rebuilding their water facilities, hospitals and homes.

“Putin’s terrorism continues here every day, but the people in Ukraine made it clear that no day or any attack could destroy their struggle for survival,” Burbock said.

She considered that it was important for this reason not to be content with just continuing our military aid for self-defense and liberating villages, noting that Germany will, above all, continue its aid; Humanity is also for reconstruction.

It should be noted that the German government intends to hold an international conference for reconstruction in Ukraine, in the German capital, Berlin, next June.

It’s noteworthy that the city of Mykolaev, the capital of Mykolaiv Oblast, is located about 130 kilometers east of the city of Odessa.

Mykolaev, located about 65 kilometers from the Black Sea, includes the third largest port in Ukraine and also has a university for shipbuilding engineering.

The German Foreign Minister inspected the former headquarters of the region’s administration, accompanied by the region’s governor, Vitaly Kim, and the mayor of Mykolaev, Oleksandr Senkevich.

The port of Kulayev, which is important for the Ukrainian economy, was out of service due to war conditions.

Earlier this month, the city authorities announced the destruction of buildings and casualties due to Russian missile attacks.
