The funeral of Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine took place in Beirut

The funeral ceremony of the two former secretaries-general of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine, who were assassinated by Israel, took place on Sunday, at the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
Since Sunday morning, thousands from all Lebanese regions have flocked to Camille Chamoun Sports City to participate in the funeral of Nasrallah and Safieddine.
The Camille Chamoun Sports City and its surroundings witnessed huge crowds coming from Arab and international cities to participate in the funeral ceremonies.
Israel assassinated Nasrallah on September 27, 2024, in a series of violent raids with anti-fortification missiles targeting the southern suburbs of Beirut, and in a series of other raids that assassinated Safieddine on October 3 of the same year.
The Israeli army announced on Sunday that the world had become a “better place,” coinciding with a massive funeral procession for Nasrallah.
The Israeli army said via its account on X, “Today is the funeral day of Hassan Nasrallah… Today the world has become a better place”.
Tens of thousands of Hezbollah supporters have been flocking to southern Beirut since Sunday morning to participate in Nasrallah’s funeral.
During the Funeral, Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem said, “Hezbollah wouldn’t accept the United States controlling Lebanon, stressing the resistance’s readiness to confront Israel despite the ceasefire agreement”.
In a speech delivered via a screen in front of tens of thousands of mourners, Qassem said, “We in Lebanon don’t accept that the tyrannical America controls our country”.
He added, “You’ll not accept in politics what you didn’t take in war,” in light of the political and military losses his party has suffered in confronting Israel in recent months, while stressing at the same time that “the resistance hasn’t ended, the resistance continues with its presence and readiness in confronting Israel”.
He said, “Resistance is fundamental and it’s our faith-based and political choice… The occupation still exists and we exercise our right to resist according to our assessment of the interest and circumstances… We’ll discuss later how Lebanon can benefit from its strength when we discuss the defensive strategy”.
Qassem added, “We committed ourselves, but Israel didn’t… We were patient and didn’t respond… After the withdrawal deadline ended, we were faced with an occupation and aggression called one point or five points… This is an occupation and aggression… Bombarding the Lebanese interior is called aggression, and Israel cannot continue its occupation and aggression”.
Qassem continued, “We say to America, you won’t achieve in politics what you didn’t achieve in war… If you are moving freely now and pressuring the officials in Lebanon, you’ll not achieve your goals because the officials in Lebanon know the balance of power… Therefore, I advise you to stop the conspiracies… Don’t misunderstood our wisdom as weakness, because the path is long and we won’t submit”.
Qassem said, “Palestine is our compass, and we support its liberation… We’ll confront US President Donald Trump’s displacement project with all the forces in the region… 160,000 martyrs and wounded in Gaza are the real price for us to continue our covenant”.
He stressed that Hezbollah will participate in the government and the state on the basis of removing the occupation and prisoners, reconstruction, and approving the rescue plan.
