Taiwanese Defense Minister Chiu Kuching said in response to questions from the deputies that Taiwan will treat any violation of its airspace by Chinese aircraft as a “first strike”.

Bloomberg News quoted Chiu as saying that Taiwan will make sure to deal with breaches and protect the last line of defense.

He added that the Taiwanese army is facing great pressure due to the breaches of Chinese drones.

Another Taiwanese defense ministry official told lawmakers that the United States expected to send four MQ-9 drones ordered by Taiwan for 2025.

Chiu said the annual Han Kuang exercises will simulate scenarios of eastern Taiwan being attacked.
