The Israeli army has taken control of 95% of the Syrian Quneitra Governorate, and has installed communications towers west of the town of Hadar.

According to sources in Syria, “the Israeli army forces are stationed on all strategic hills and inside military barracks in the Quneitra Governorate in southern Syria, after bringing additional reinforcements to the area following its control over approximately 95% of the governorate”.

The sources added, “the Israeli army installed towers and communications equipment on the Qusr al Nafl hill, west of the town of Hadar, north of Quneitra”.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously said that Tel Aviv seeks to establish healthy relations with the new regime in Syria.

Netanyahu stressed that the Golan Heights will forever remain an integral part of Israel, stressing that “everyone today realizes the great importance of our control over it”.

The Golan Heights were part of Syria until 1967, and during the Six-Day War, Israeli forces occupied the area.

After the 1973 war, and within the framework of an agreement on armistice and separation of forces, in 1974, UN peacekeeping centers appeared in the Golan Heights, on the so-called “Bravo” border line on the Syrian side, and the “Alpha” line on the Israeli side.
