Svetlova: We no longer dare to launch raids on Syria!
Israeli Knesset member and the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee member, Ksenia Svetlova, said that Israeli air force have not carried out combat operations against Syria since Damascus took over the S-300 missile defense system.
“Since Syria received the S-300 system, Israeli aircraft have not carried out any sort of flights”, Svetlovna told reporters on Monday.
“The S-300 has changed the balance in the region”.
“Russia is in Syria, and this is a reality and we have to work together”, Svetlovna said.
In October, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he had informed Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov that Israel would continue to strike hostile targets in Syria.
Israeli planes have launched hundreds of raids in Syria against what it says are targets for Iran and Hezbollah in the past.
The S-300 anti-aircraft missile system can cover a radius of 150 to 250 kilometers depending on the type of missile, said a former general manager of the basic design office of the Russian air defense firm Almaz-Antey.
