Statistics: A strong decline in the number of Ukrainian immigrants to Germany during 2023
The Federal Bureau of Statistics in Germany announced a clear decline in the number of immigrants coming from Ukraine to Germany during the year 2023, compared to what it was in 2022, when the Russian attack began.
According to the numbers of the Federal Bureau of Statistics on Thursday, 277,000 people immigrated from Ukraine to Germany during the year 2023, and 156,000 people returned to Ukraine, and thus the net number of immigrants reached 121,000 people.
The Federal Bureau of Statistics monitored 1.1 million cases of migration from Ukraine to Germany during the year 2022, and at the same time monitored 138 cases of departure from Ukraine from Germany, meaning that the net number of Ukrainian immigrants to Germany in 2022 reached 960 thousand people.
However, even with this strong decline in the number of immigrants from Ukraine to Germany over the past year, the numbers of Ukrainian immigrants to Germany remain much higher than they were during the years preceding the Russian attack on Ukraine, as their number in 2021 reached only six thousand people, and in 2020 the number reached five.
Thousands of people, and in 2019, the number reached seven thousand people.
Since the Russian attack on Ukraine began on February 24, 2022, a large wave of Ukrainians fled from the country.
