Sen. Lindsey Graham confirms that US President Trump is ready to “slow” the withdrawal of US troops from Syria to ensure full defeat of the “Islamic state”!

US President Donald Trump is ready to “slow down” the withdrawal of US troops from Syria in order to defeat the Islamic state permanently, said Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.
Graham, who had earlier expressed concern over Trump’s decision, came out “reassured” after a lunch with Trump.
“The president is determined to ensure that the organization of the Islamic state is completely defeated when we leave Syria”, he told reporters as he left the White House.
“The president understands that we need to finish the job.
We’ll slow things down smartly”.
Earlier on Sunday, Graham called on Trump to reconsider his decision to withdraw US troops from Syria, to ensure that the organization of the Islamic state “will never return”.
Last week, the US president ordered the withdrawal of 2,000 US troops deployed in northern Syria, most of them special forces to fight the Islamic state and train local forces in areas that have been restored.
“I will ask him to meet with his generals and reconsider how this is done”, said Graham, a former Tramp opponent who became close to him.
Slow down, and make sure that we do so well and that the organization of the Islamic state will never return”.
Graham said he was “surprised” by Trump’s decision, calling it a “big mistake”.
“We have to keep our soldiers there”, he said.
“If we go out now, the Kurds will be massacred”.
“If we give up the Kurds and be massacred, who will help us in the future?”
Kurdish people’s protection units, which threaten Ankara with an attack against it, are fighting jihadists in northern Syria with support from Washington.
Turkey considers the units to protect the Kurdish people a terrorist organization similar to the PKK, which Ankara says is a faction of its own.
“Don’t let Syria go to the Iranians, this is a nightmare for Israel”.
“The president is frustrated and I understand him.
We’re not the policeman of the world, (but we) are fighting in a war against the organization of the Islamic state.
The organization was not defeated in Syria yet.
I ask the president to have men there to protect us”.
Trump made his decision despite repeated warnings to US military officials of the risk of a hasty withdrawal from Syria that would release the allies of Syrian President Bashar Al Assad, Russia and Iran, in Syria.
