Scholz loses his temper after the statement of the Ukrainian Foreign Minister
The German Chancellor Olaf Scholz got angry and commented on the statement of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba about Berlin’s unwillingness to supply Kyiv with tanks.
This came according to what the “New York Times” wrote, where the adviser replied: “Leadership isn’t about doing what you are asked, but about making the right decisions, and being very strong… And that’s what I do”.
In addition, the German Chancellor reacted to another question about Germany not spending 2% of GDP on military spending in the next few years.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister had written in a tweet to him on Twitter that he had received disappointing signals from Germany regarding supplying Ukraine with “Leopard” tanks and “Mardier” infantry fighting vehicles, noting that “there is not a single rational argument” for not providing these weapons, and wondering what Berlin fears.
The regime in Kyiv was waiting to receive German “Leopard 2” tanks, but Berlin was in no hurry to share them, at a time when Schulz said that Germany would continue to support Ukraine, but wouldn’t take any steps without the consent of the “NATO” allies.
Bloomberg also wrote that Western countries had reached an undeclared agreement not to supply the Kyiv authorities with tanks, so Germany does not want to start with that, so it raises a reason to accuse it of escalation.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov indicated that any Western arms shipments to Kyiv would become a legitimate target of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
