Satellite images show extensive damage to Syria’s T4 military airport after Israeli strikes
Satellite images have revealed the extent of the destruction caused by Israeli airstrikes on the T4 military airport near Palmyra in the eastern Homs countryside. Large excavations were found on the runway, in addition to damage to basic infrastructure, preventing the airport from receiving heavy transport aircraft.
Israel launched several raids on the airport during the first week of April, but the attack on April 2 was considered the most severe.
Israeli raids also targeted military sites in Damascus and Hama, including the Scientific Research Center in Barzeh Housing.
Reports indicate that Hama Military Airport was subjected to more than 15 raids.
Israeli media reported that the strike on T4 airport was a direct message to Ankara, amid reports of a Turkish presence at the airport.
The Jerusalem Post quoted an Israeli official as warning Türkiye against establishing a military base in Syria or interfering with Israeli movements in the region.
Retired General Itzhak Brik also stated that Turkish forces backed by heavy equipment had entered Syria toward Homs and Damascus, noting that Türkiye controls some airports in coordination with the regime, in a move he described as a strategic threat to Israel’s security.
