Russian-Ukrainian war: with 588 km advance deep into Ukraine… June marks the largest Russian advance since last November
The Russian army recorded its largest advance into Ukrainian territory in June 2025 since last November, continuing its acceleration for the third consecutive month, according to an analysis of data from the American Institute for the Study of War conducted by Agence France-Presse.
During June, Russian forces captured 588 square kilometers in Ukraine, compared to 507 square kilometers in May, 379 square kilometers in April, and only 240 square kilometers in March, reflecting a recovery in the pace of advances after a slowdown during the winter.
