The deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday that NATO countries are no longer limited to waging a hybrid war against Russia, but are actually participating in a full-scale war, citing strikes on Russian territory using long-range weapons from Ukraine.

“The use of long-range weapons proves that NATO, whether led by Washington or through other members, has become involved in a full-scale war against our country, and not just a hybrid war,” Medvedev said in an interview.

Medvedev also advised the United States not to manipulate the issue of the “nuclear threat” from Russia, noting that America is the only country in human history that has used nuclear weapons against Japan, calling on it to apologize to the Japanese instead of accusing Russia.

He explained, “The Americans should remember their previous threat and apologize to the Japanese, which they have never done”.

Medvedev noted that Russia is currently at war with the entire Western world, stressing that Russia will rely on its nuclear strategy when necessary.

He said, “We’re at war with the West, and we will make decisions based on the documents signed by the head of state… The final decision, of course, belongs to the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, who is the president of the country”.

He also stressed that the sanctions imposed on Russia negatively affect Europe, while they have helped Russia revitalize many sectors of its economy.

He explained that the updated Russian nuclear doctrine has reduced restrictions on the use of nuclear weapons due to the increasing risks facing the country.

Regarding the Ukrainian strikes, Medvedev noted that attacks on Russian territory using long-range weapons didn’t go unanswered.

He stressed that the United States doesn’t seek to resolve conflicts in the Middle East, but rather prefers to keep the situation under control to achieve its interests.

In a related context, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out two strikes over the past three days with long-range Western-made weapons on sites in the Kursk region.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that these strikes were carried out using Western precision-targeted weapons.
