Russian official: $300 billion in losses for US companies that left the Russian markets

Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, said that US companies have suffered losses of more than $300 billion due to their withdrawal from the Russian market, expressing his hope for positive talks with the US side in Saudi Arabia.
This came in press statements he made on Tuesday in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on the sidelines of talks between American and Russian delegations to improve relations strained since the Ukraine war.
Dmitriev stressed the importance of the ongoing talks between Moscow and Washington, stating that the whole world is watching to see if the United States and Russia will succeed in improving their relations.
He added, “Having better relations between us will make it possible to solve the problems that the world is currently facing”.
The Russian official said he met with some members of US President Donald Trump’s team in Riyadh before the start of the main talks between the two countries.
He pointed out that he is responsible for the economic aspect of the Russian-US talks in Riyadh, expressing his hope for positive discussions.
He continued, “We see that US President Trump is very active in resolving many global issues… That is why we hope to hold positive negotiations with the United States”.
