Russian Foreign Minister: Washington obstructed for years the establishment of a Palestinian state and we need to break the injustice that generations of Palestinians have suffered from
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the United States had obstructed for years attempts to establish a Palestinian state.
Lavrov said in a press conference with his Indian counterpart Subramaniam Jaishankar in Moscow on Wednesday, “We know the ability of the West, especially the United States, and how it declares victory, and we know how they won in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq”.
Lavrov stressed that there has been no improvement in any of the countries that Washington uses to defend its interests.
He added: “Look at what happened in the Middle East, in the Gaza Strip, because Washington prevented for many years attempts to establish a Palestinian state in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council”.
Lavrov, stressed the need to break the cycle of violence and lift the injustice that generations of Palestinians have suffered from, stressing that this is the only way through which stability can be achieved in the Middle East.
Lavrov called for stopping the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, denouncing all “terrorist acts and collective punishment”.
He believed that the conspiracies of Western countries, whose hegemony is receding, are largely the reason behind throwing the world into a state of chaos, pointing to the continuation of storms in the world.
According to the Russian Foreign Minister, one of the reasons behind this is that the ruling circles in the West provoke crises thousands of kilometers from their borders, in order to solve their issues at the expense of other peoples.
Likewise, Lavrov warned that no one in the world can be sure of escaping unscathed from Western machinations, in the year 2024, explaining that no one can be protected from these geopolitical machinations, in light of the circumstances in which the West clings to the hegemony that is slipping away, and there is a growing awareness of this.
Lavrov previously confirmed that the Hamas attack on October 7 “didn’t happen in a vacuum”.
He also stressed the necessity of sitting at the negotiating table and agreeing to establish a direct Palestinian state, provided that this happens after the cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip.
