Russia denies the news regarding the Asma al Assad’s request for divorce from Bashar al Assad
The Kremlin announced on Monday that reports that Bashar al Assad’s wife Asma had requested a divorce were incorrect.
This denial comes days after Assad and his family fled to Russia following the fall of his regime in Syria on December 8.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also denied Turkish media reports that restrictions had been placed on Assad’s movements and his real estate assets frozen.
Asked if these reports were true, Peskov said, “No, they don’t correspond to reality”.
It’s worth noting that reports published by Turkish press indicated, that Asma filled for divorce, so she could return to the UK.
