Russia delivers Syria 3 units of the system «S-300PM» free of charge

The Russian news agency «Tass» quoted diplomatic and military sources as saying that Russia sent earlier this month, 3 units of the defense system model «S-300PM», each consisting of 8 rocket launchers, without charge.
The source explained that these units were deployed in one of the bases of Russian air defense, which is using a newer system of the “S-400 Triumf”, and then was maintained to make sure the readiness of combat, before sending.
Apart from rocket launchers, Russia has sent more than 100 surface-to-air missiles to each of the systems, he said.
There have been reports that Russia has sent eight battalions of the S-300 defense system to Syria and has been handed over to the Syrian side with the survival of the management of the system under Russian crews pending the completion of the training of the Syrian crews which will manage the systems in various locations based in Syria.
A report issued by the Russian Ministry of Defense that the training of Syrian crews will take a few months pending the Syrian side is fully capable of operating the systems independently.
