The Director General of Russia’s State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, announced that the US attacks on Iran didn’t affect the Bushehr nuclear power plant.

Likhachev told the Russian press on Sunday that they had assessed the situation at the Bushehr nuclear power plant following the US attacks targeting nuclear facilities in Iran.

He explained that the situation at the station site is calm, noting that “the American attacks didn’t affect this part of Iranian territory”.

Likhachev confirmed that they are closely monitoring developments, adding, “If there is a threat to our employees involved in the construction of two nuclear power plants, we are immediately prepared to begin the evacuation process… As a first step, we are planning to evacuate women and children”.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on June 19 that Russian experts were working at the Bushehr nuclear power plant, saying, “There are 250 people there, and the number could rise to 600… We’ll not leave there… Isn’t that support?”
