Two Iranian and three regional sources told Reuters on Monday that Tehran has asked Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Oman to pressure US President Donald Trump to use his influence to pressure Israel to agree to an immediate ceasefire in exchange for Iran showing flexibility in nuclear negotiations.

Gulf leaders and senior diplomats held phone calls throughout the weekend, speaking with each other, Tehran, Washington, and others in an attempt to prevent a wider conflict as Israel and Iran intensify their attacks in their largest-ever confrontation.

An Iranian source said that Tehran is willing to show flexibility in the nuclear talks if a ceasefire can be reached.

A Gulf source close to government officials told Reuters that Gulf states are deeply concerned about the conflict spiraling out of control.

The Gulf source said that Qatar, Oman, and Saudi Arabia have all appealed to Washington to pressure Israel to agree to a ceasefire and resume talks with Tehran to reach a nuclear agreement.
