Reports: Ukrainian drones appear in the rebels’ battle against the Syrian army in the Idlib and Aleppo
Reports revealed that there is intelligence coordination between Hay’at Tahrir al Sham in Idlib and Ukraine to carry out operations targeting Russian sites in Syria, as Ukrainian weapons began to appear on the battlefield.
On the second day of fierce battles between the Syrian army and Hay’at Tahrir al Sham and its allies on the fronts of southeastern Idlib and western Aleppo, the group was observed using advanced weapons provided by Ukraine.
Videos circulating on social media showed Hay’at Tahrir al Sham using advanced drones equipped with bombs and high-quality imaging lenses to strike Syrian army positions and vehicles.
Sources also revealed that the Authority’s “Response to Aggression” operations room has been provided with advanced technologies to manage battles on the ground, in addition to obtaining modern communication devices and large quantities of protective vests, along with using newly modified armored vehicles.
Battles on the Idlib and Aleppo fronts are still ongoing, with continuous changes in the control map.
The fighters began their attack from Jabal al Zawiya, south of Idlib, towards the international highway between Aleppo and Damascus, while the Syrian army continues to bring in reinforcements to thwart the militants’ attempts to advance and cut the highway.
These developments come amid reports of attempts by Hay’at Tahrir al Sham to strengthen its influence in regional conflicts, as part of an agenda targeting the interests of Syria’s allies, such as Iran and Russia.
New information has confirmed intelligence cooperation between the group and Ukraine to carry out operations targeting Russian forces in Syria.
