Putin prefers Biden, whose actions are predictable over Trump

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday described his US counterpart, Joe Biden, as a person whose actions are “more predictable” than Donald Trump, however he expressed his readiness to deal with the winner of the US presidential elections scheduled for November, whoever he may be.

In response to a question about who Russia prefers to win in the potential confrontation between the current Democratic president and Republican candidate Trump, Putin replied, “Biden, is more experienced… He’s predictable, he’s an old-school politician”.

Commenting on the criticism related to Biden’s age, who will turn 82 years old just weeks after the elections, Putin said, “When I met Mr. Biden three years ago, people were talking about his inability, but I didn’t see anything like this,” apparently referring to Summit held in Geneva.

US opinion polls show that voters have real concerns about Biden’s age.

The issue of the US president’s mental competency was exacerbated after two incidents in which he confused current European leaders with their deceased predecessors.

The White House was forced to strongly defend the president last week after a special counsel report described him as an elderly man with a weak memory.

Biden himself later responded angrily to the accusation, but later exacerbated the problem by again confusing the presidents of Egypt and Mexico.

Trump (77) was exposed to the same situation recently when he also mixed up his rival for the Republican Party nomination, Nikki Haley, with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

However, Putin expressed strong opposition to Washington’s foreign policy under Biden.

“What we must examine is the political position, and the position of the current administration is extremely harmful and wrong,” Putin said.

The Biden administration has led military aid to Ukraine in the two-year standoff with the Russian invasion.

Putin’s public preference for Biden comes despite the latter’s harsh criticism of Putin and after Trump expressed on numerous occasions his admiration for the Kremlin leader.

The Republican candidate also faced severe criticism after he recently stated that he would encourage Russia to attack any NATO country that didn’t pay the money it owed to support the alliance.
