North Korean leader Kim Jong Un discussed practical issues to enhance military cooperation with the Russian Defense Minister in what Pyongyang described as a new peak in bilateral relations.

During his visit to Russia, Kim inspected Russian nuclear-capable strategic bombers, hypersonic missiles and warships on Saturday, accompanied by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

In continuation of his visit to Russia that began a few days ago, the Russian Information Agency reported on Sunday that North Korean leader will visit several food companies.

The Korean Central News Agency said that the visit of the North Korean leader, who rarely leaves the country, to Russia comes as a new peak of friendship, solidarity and cooperation in the history of the development of relations between the DPRK and Russia.

Kim met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday and discussed military issues, the war in Ukraine, and deepening cooperation.

The United States and its allies are concerned about the rapprochement of military relations between Russia and North Korea, as the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues and North Korea continues to develop missiles and nuclear weapons.

South Korea and the United States said on Friday that military cooperation between North Korea and Russia would be a violation of UN sanctions on Pyongyang.

The Russian defense minister Sergey Shoigu told Russian media that Moscow is considering holding joint military exercises with North Korea.

Shoigu visited Pyongyang last July and visited an arms exhibition with Kim, in one of the most prominent indicators of deepening relations between the two countries in this regard.

The North Korean leader visited the Russian Pacific Fleet, which is equipped with strategic nuclear submarines and other military ships, and quoted him as praising the fleet for its contribution to peace in the region.

Earlier this month, North Korea launched its first operationally ready tactical nuclear attack submarine.
