Netanyahu: Will fight until victory and return all hostages and missing persons… We will eliminate and destroy Hamas
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to fight until victory in Gaza, signaling that there will be no end to the military bombardment or a retreat from the expected ground invasion of Gaza after Hamas released two American hostages.
On Friday, the Hamas movement that rules the Gaza Strip released American Judith (59 years old) and her daughter Natalie (17 years old), who were kidnapped in its attack on southern Israel on October 7.
Meanehile, Israel is mobilizing tanks and troops near the Gaza Strip in preparation for a possible ground invasion.
Its bombing of Gaza led to the death of at least 4,137 Palestinians, including hundreds of children, in addition to the displacement of more than a million people, according to Palestinian officials.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant told a Knesset committee that achieving its goals won’t be quick or easy for Israel.
He continued, “We’ll overthrow the Hamas organization… We will destroy their military and governmental structure, and this process won’t be easy, and it will be a price”.
He said the next phase would be longer but aimed at achieving a completely different security situation that would not pose any threat to Israel from Gaza.
The Israeli Defense Minister added, “Not a day, not a week, and unfortunately not a month”.
