Netanyahu deceives even his own people, Putin tank and the case of three missing Israeli soldiers lost in Lebanon!
It seems like the Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has the art of deceit not to deceive the world only but even his own Israeli citizens, exploiting their tragedies to serve his personal political interests.
Israeli media reported that Israel had unofficially closed the files of three missing Israeli soldiers who had been injured during the Battle of Sultan Yacoub in the Western Bekaa area in Lebanon during the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982.
According to Israeli intelligence sources, the three soldiers are Tzvi Feldman, Yehuda Katz and Zachary Baumel.
In June 1982, 30 Israeli soldiers were killed and five were captured in a battle near the village of Sultan Yacoub in Lebanon, close to the Syrian border.
Two of the captured soldiers were returned to Israel alive and the remaining three are still officially missing in action because no conclusive proof has been presented that they died, due to that the Israeli authorities close their cases and stop the relevant authorities from tracing them, which caused a stir in the corridors of security and political Israeli.
The Israeli newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” reported that the families of the soldiers refused to stop the investigations and not to disclose their whereabouts.
Katz’s sister said: “This will not happen as long as I am alive”, expressing dissatisfaction that the Israeli authorities do not expect her brother to be alive.
According to the information, which was also published by the Middle East Monitor, 30 Israeli soldiers were killed and 5 others lost during the battle between the Syrian army and the Israeli forces.
Two of the missing returned to Israel, while the fate of the other three remained unknown.
Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a presidential order in May 2016, according to which an Israeli tank that participated in the Battle of Sultan Yacoub was handed over to Israel in the context of improving relations between the two sides, especially since Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had asked Putin “It is the only remaining anniversary of the families of those who fell in battle”.
Some media have accused Netanyahu of deceiving people.
“Over the years that we have been searching for soldiers, we will not rest until we return them to Israel and bury them here”, he said at a ceremony to receive the tank. Throughout these years, the Katz, Feldman and Baumel families had no grave to visit, but now they will have this tank”.
Now, the families say that the tank Israel obtained was not the one used by the missing soldiers.
For his part, a senior Israeli intelligence official said the file was “unofficially closed” after “we have exhausted all efforts” to find the bodies.
After the anger of the residents, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said that although the intelligence did not reveal the fate and whereabouts of the soldiers, he promised to follow up the investigation.
