Netanyahu acknowledges losses and vows to continue the war on Gaza until Hamas is defeated!
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed on Tuesday to continue the war on the Gaza Strip, despite what he described as the “heavy price” Israel is paying.
This came in a post he made on X, following the Israeli army’s announcement that three of its soldiers had been killed in an attack on a military vehicle north of the Gaza Strip.
“We’re advancing with measured steps to minimize the number of our soldiers killed as much as possible, but there are no wars without a price,” Netanyahu said, referring to the army’s mounting losses in the Gaza battles.
He also pledged to “defeat Hamas and ensure that Gaza no longer poses a threat to Israel”.
In a message to the families of the fallen soldiers, he said, “Your sons didn’t fall in vain, but in a just war like no other… We’ll defeat Hamas, free all our hostages, and ensure that Gaza will no longer pose a threat to Israel”.
He also added that Israeli army was making “remarkable progress,” despite mounting losses, adding, “The price the Israelis are paying is heavy, and sometimes seems unbearable”.
However, he stressed that his government “will continue until all the war’s objectives are achieved,” affirming the continuation of the war of extermination against the Palestinians in Gaza.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Israeli army announced that three soldiers were killed and two others injured in an explosive device explosion on Monday evening in the town of Jabaliya, north of the Gaza Strip.
“Sergeant First Class Lior Steinberg, 20, and Sergeant First Class Ofek Barahna, 20, both medics in the 9th Battalion of the Givati Brigade, and Sergeant First Class Omer Van Gelder, 20, a platoon commander in the 9th Battalion of the Givati Brigade, were killed in a battle in the northern Gaza Strip,” the statement said.
For its part, the official Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that the incident occurred when the military convoy carrying the soldiers was returning from the Jabaliya area in the northern Gaza Strip towards Israel and entered a field of explosive devices”.
This brings the number of soldiers killed since the beginning of the war to 861, including 419 in the ground battles in the Gaza Strip that began on October 27, 2023, according to Israeli military data.
