Maariv: Requests for psychological support increased by 350% following Iran’s response
The Israeli Maariv newspaper reported on Saturday that the number of Israelis seeking psychological support due to the Iranian military response had increased by 350%.
The Maariv reported, “A 350% increase in the number of requests for psychological support was recorded through the helpline of the Natal Association (Israel Trauma Center), which provides psychological assistance to victims of trauma resulting from terrorism and war”.
“We received calls to helplines from all over the country from citizens reporting panic attacks, tension, trembling, crying, and rapid heartbeats,” Everett Chevrot, the association’s general manager, told Maariv newspaper.
“Citizens reported feeling out of control, fear of leaving shelters, requests for help with calming down and dealing with children, and difficulty disconnecting from the news,” Chevrot added.
