Ukraine announced Saturday that it had been bombarded by explosive marches, some of which reached the relatively calm Lviv region in the west of this war-wracked country.

Russian army repeatedly bombards Ukraine with missiles, artillery and marches, often causing widespread power outages and depriving people of heating their homes or drinking water.

“At about 21:00 on March 17, 2023, the Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 suicide drones,” the Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement on Twitter.

The statement added that 11 of the 16 drones were destroyed”.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the attack was launched from the Sea of ​​Azov and the Russian region of Bryansk bordering Ukraine.

Some of those drones targeted the Lviv region in western Ukraine.

The regional governor, Maxim Kzuetsky, said, “Around 1:00 am, our region was attacked by suicide drones of the type Witness 136, according to preliminary information, there were six Drones”.

Kzuetsky added that three drones were shot down, while the other three “hit non-residential sites” in the Yavorev area, causing damage but no casualties.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region of southeastern Ukraine, air defenses shot down three drones, according to the head of the regional council, Mykola Lukashuk.

“Two more marches hit a vital infrastructure facility in Novomoskovsk,” he added.

He explained that the attack caused a fire and extreme damage.

According to Lukashuk, the fire destroyed four homes and damaged six others, and no human injuries were recorded.

Strikes targeted the capital, Kiev, according to the city administration.

The administration said on social media that the air defense forces destroyed all air targets, without causing casualties or damage.
