Josep Borrell: Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, displacing and killing, and half of the bombs dropped on the Strip come from Europe
Former EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell asserted that “Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, and half of the bombs falling on the Strip come from us (referring to Europe)”.
This came in a speech delivered by the former European official on Friday after receiving the European Charles V Award at the Monastery of Yuste in Spain.

Borrell pointed out that Europe is witnessing the largest ethnic cleansing since World War II, with the goal of creating a tourist resort after the extermination of the Palestinians, referring to a project proposed by US President Donald Trump that aims to transfer Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to neighboring countries under the pretext of transforming the Strip into a global tourist destination.
Criticizing the European Union’s failure to take action regarding the Israeli aggression on Gaza, Borrell said, “Half of the bombs falling on the Strip come from us… The European Union is not doing its best,” he said.
Borrell also issued a warning to Europe’s younger generations, urging them to move forward with financial and military integration as quickly as possible, or face the risk of European civilization collapsing in a world shaped by “masters of chaos like Trump and tyrants like Russian President Vladimir Putin”.
He explained that “the main challenge facing Europe is no longer internal peace, but rather how to manage its relations with the rest of the world”.
He added, “The European continent must learn how to absorb external shocks”.
Borrell also blamed the European Union for its slow response to arming Ukraine, saying that “the lack of weapons in the early stages of the Russian invasion had dire consequences”.
