Israeli Press: The Good News is Over… now the Bad News is here!

It seems that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu chose in his war on Lebanon the method of giving the ‘good news’ first to the Israeli public, and today it’s the turn of the ‘bad’ news that he avoided talking about in light of the euphoria he experienced after the assassination of a number of Lebanese resistance leaders, most notably Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah.

According to the Israeli media, the current war reveals that Israel’s estimates of the extent of the losses suffered by Hezbollah as a result of the pagers explosion incident, followed by a series of assassinations, and intensive aerial bombardment of the southern suburbs and border areas in southern Lebanon were far from reality.

Israel is beginning to realize that the war that Netanyahu promised would change the map of the Middle East and reshape the political landscape in Lebanon without Hezbollah is nothing but illusions that he is trying to promote to justify the high costs that the Israelis are paying.

Yedioth Ahronoth compared the Israeli military strategy to burying one’s head in the sand, while drones and missiles from Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, and Iraq continue to strike Israeli cities and towns.

As for Maariv newspaper, Israel began to realize that the money spent by successive governments on defense systems such as the Iron Dome and separation walls didn’t and won’t provide protection from the strikes coming from Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen.
