Israeli Media: The Israeli army found Chinese weapons inside Gaza
The Israeli Channel 12 said on Saturday that the Israeli army found a large quantity of Chinese weapons used by Palestinian fighters in the Gaza Strip.
According to the report of Channel 12, the political level was informed of the results.
After Channel 12 published its report, Carice Witte, CEO and founder of the SIGNAL group and an expert on Chinese-Israeli relations, said that although it’s certainly possible that Chinese weapons reached the hands of the Palestinian resistance, they weren’t purchased directly from Beijing.
China has an extensive arms industry, Witte said, adding that Beijing, by definition, doesn’t sell weapons to non-governmental entities but certainly sells weapons to countries in the Middle East.
According to Witte, those responsible for the presence of weapons in Gaza are either states or independent Chinese actors that illegally sell weapons to groups based in Gaza.
According to Carice Witte the trade relations between China and Middle Eastern countries are well known, noting that it’s not impossible for these weapons to fall into the wrong hands, stating that Israel must verify the matter with the official Chinese authorities.
