Israeli Broadcasting Authority: Israel is observing a worrying trend led by the Syrian president
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority revealed on Tuesday concerns in Tel Aviv regarding Ahmed al Sharaa, alleging his extremism and efforts to undermine Israel’s security.
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority quoted an unnamed Israeli security source as saying that Tel Aviv had noticed a worrying trend led by Syrian President Ahmed al Sharaa, adding that “President al Sharaa is an Islamist who wears a tie… He is an enemy, a hardliner, and not a partner for dialogue”.
He continued, “We understand that al Julani (al Sharaa) is an enemy trying to sell a new image to the West, while at the same time working to undermine Israel’s security”.
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority claimed, “Ahmed al Sharaa released all members of the Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements who were arrested during Bashar al Assad’s rule, including those involved in terrorist activities against Israel”.
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority also claimed that Iran began searching for a way to remain in Syria after the Assad regime was overthrown, and one solution was to support Hamas and Islamic Jihad cells inside Syria.
The Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz commented on the violence that swept the Syrian coast last month, saying, “al Julani revealed his true face after removing the mask he was wearing”.
