Israel was under fire with large Iranian attack with missiles and drones that reached several areas
Israeli media reported at dawn on Sunday that air defense systems carried out dozens of interceptions of Iranian missiles and drones over large areas in various parts of Israel.
A large number of missiles fell in a number of Israeli cities, most notably Tel Aviv, Eilat, Dimona, and the Negev, and a number of intercepted air objects were monitored over the city of Jerusalem.
Videos circulated by the media and social media showed Iranian ballistic missiles landing on targets in the Negev, and according to preliminary information, the missiles hit the Israeli air base.
On the other hand, Iranian news agency “IRNA” confirmed that an Israeli air base in the Negev was targeted with Khaybar missiles.
Reports confirmed that sirens sounded near the Dimona nuclear reactor, in the southern and central Negev Desert, and in Arad, east of the Negev Desert, and explosions sounded near Tel Aviv.
For his part, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari announced that the Iranian attack is continuing and that Israeli fighters are still in the airspace, describing the Iranian attack as a “dangerous escalation”.
The Israeli military spokesman confirmed that Iran “launched dozens of surface-to-surface missiles toward Israel”.
He continued that there are upcoming threats to Israel and said, “Iran launched a widespread and coordinated attack on Israel”.
Hagari explained that Iran launched more than 200 missiles and drones, including ballistic and winged missiles and drones.
He said that there were missiles that fell in Israel.
The infrastructure was damaged at a military base in the south, referring to the air base in the Negev that was subjected to a barrage of missiles.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced on Saturday evening that it carried out an operation using drones and missiles in response to Israel’s crime of bombing the Iranian consulate in Syria.
The Revolutionary Guards confirmed the successful bombing and destruction of important targets for the Israeli army, pointing out that any threat from Washington or Israel from any country will be met with a mutual response in the same location as the source of the threat.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement, “on Sunday that a number of important targets belonging to the Zionist entity were successfully bombed and destroyed,” adding, “any threat from the United States and the Zionist entity from any country will be met with a mutual response in the same place as the source of the threat”.
