The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received, on Tuesday night, a list of prisoners who will be released, Wednesday, as part of the sixth batch within the prisoner exchange deal with Hamas.
Haaretz newspaper said, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office announced its confirmation of receiving a new list of detainees in the Gaza Strip for release, Wednesday, without details.
The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper quoted Netanyahu’s office as saying that the list is being examined… Notifications have now been delivered to the families.
Since last Friday, over the course of 5 days, Israel has received 60 women and children prisoners in exchange for the release of 180 Palestinian women and children prisoners also in Israeli prisons under the exchange deal.
On October 7, the Palestinian resistance launched an attack on the settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip, during which it killed more than 1,200 Israelis, injured more than 5,000, and captured about 239.
While Israel launched a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, it left massive infrastructure destruction and tens of thousands of civilian killed, most of them children and women, in addition to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, according to official Palestinian and UN sources.
In addition, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club announced that the number of detainees in the West Bank since October 7 has risen to more than 3,290 cases, the highest in the Hebron Governorate in the southern West Bank.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said in a statement on Tuesday evening, “Among the detainees are 125 women, including those who were arrested from the territories in 1948… As for children, during last October 145 children were arrested, and the number of child detainees wasn’t available during the current month”.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club explained that “the Zionist occupation authorities arrested 168 Palestinians during the five days of the truce”.
Since the start of a humanitarian truce last Friday, over the course of 5 days, Israel has received 60 women and children prisoners in exchange for the release of 180 Palestinian women and children prisoners also in Israeli prisons, according to an exchange deal between Israel and Hamas.
The statement added, “41 journalists were also arrested, of whom 29 remain in detention”.
According to statistics, 6 detainees were killed in the occupation prisons during the same period, and the Israeli forces arrested 168 Palestinian civilians during the days of the temporary truce.
It’s noteworthy that the data related to arrest cases includes those who were kept in detention by Israel and those who were later released, and doesn’t include cases of arrest from Gaza, according to the statement.
