Hundreds of thousands of Israelis demonstrated in Tel Aviv on Tuesday evening, demanding that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conclude an agreement with Hamas to return prisoners from the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Channel 12 reported that hundreds of thousands of Israelis are protesting in “Abductees Square” or “Hatufim Square” in Tel Aviv and the surrounding streets.

The channel continued on its website that protesters joined forces with the families of hostages, and major roads were blocked, either by crowds or by burning tires.

The Israeli channel explained that they are demanding that Netanyahu conclude an agreement with Hamas to return the prisoners from Gaza, even at the expense of ending the war that has been ongoing in the Strip for nearly 23 months.

Israel estimates there are 50 Israeli hostages in Gaza, 20 of whom are still alive.

Meanwhile, more than 10,800 Palestinians are languishing in its prisons, suffering torture, starvation, and medical neglect, many of whom have died, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media reports.
