The Israeli army is expanding its operations on Monday in the Gaza Strip, where the number of Palestinian civilian martyrs is increasing, amid new indications of the expansion of the conflict in the region, with incidents recorded last weekend in Iraq and the Red Sea.

Army spokesman Daniel Hagari said on Sunday evening, “The Israeli army continues to expand its ground operation against Hamas throughout the Gaza Strip,” adding, “The army operates everywhere where there are Hamas strongholds”.

Israeli soldiers have been launching a ground attack since October 27 in northern Gaza, where they took control of several areas.

Since the resumption of fighting on Friday after the end of a week-long truce with Hamas, the army has focused mainly on-air strikes.

At night, a raid on the entrance to Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza resulted in the death of several people.

In a statement, the Hamas government accused the Israeli army of committing a serious violation of international humanitarian law.

Ministry spokesman Ashraf al Qudra said that during the past hours, only 316 killed and 664 wounded were recovered from under the rubble and transferred to hospitals, but many others are still under the rubble, while the death toll continues to rise since the end of the truce.

The war broke out on October 7 after an attack launched by Hamas inside southern Israel from the Gaza Strip, which led to the killing of about 1,200 people, most of them civilians, the majority of whom died on the first day of the attack, according to the Israeli authorities.

Israel pledged to eliminate Hamas, launched intensive bombardment on the Gaza Strip, and began ground operations as of October 27.

The Israeli army announced on Sunday that it had launched nearly ten thousand air strikes since the beginning of the war.

In the southern Gaza Strip, since Friday, intensive strikes have targeted the city of Khan Yunis and its environs, where the Israeli army daily warns residents via leaflets dropped by air on some neighborhoods of an imminent terrible attack, calling on residents to leave.

Hospitals in the southern Gaza Strip are suffering from chaos with the influx of large numbers of wounded beyond their capacity, while their fuel stocks have run out to operate electricity generators.

In Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, which is the largest in the south of the Gaza Strip, large numbers of wounded and martyrs are transferred after each bombing operation, without anyone being able to identify them.

The United States warned Israel of the high number of civilian martyrs in the Gaza Strip, without questioning its ally’s right to defend itself.

The war between Israel and Hamas also has consequences for the United States, which noticed an increase in attacks against its soldiers, bases, and allies in the Middle East, with the exception of the week-long truce period.
