Iran’s Revolutionary Guard responds to Trump: We won’t make any deal with the United States neither now nor in the future
The spokesman for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Khatam al Anbiya Command, Ebrahim Zolfiqari, announced on Wednesday that his country won’t conclude any agreement with the United States.
This came in an interview with Iranian state television in response to US President Donald Trump’s statements regarding negotiations with Iranian officials.
Addressing Washington, Zolfiqari said: “Don’t call your defeat an agreement… The time for your promises is over… Our position was clear from the beginning and hasn’t changed… People like us won’t make an agreement with people like you, neither now nor in the future”.
On Tuesday, Trump announced that his administration was actively negotiating with the Iranians, and that Tehran was very desirous of a deal with Washington.
Trump didn’t disclose however, who the Iranian side is negotiating, but said that all the Iranian leaders are gone, and no one knows who will talk to them, but we are talking to the right people.
On Monday, Trump announced very good and very productive talks with Iran over two days, and ordered a five-day postponement of military strikes against Iran’s power plants and energy infrastructure, while they were scheduled for Tuesday.
Iranian officials later denied the US president’s statements, with Ali Abdollahi, the commander of the Central Headquarters of the Seal of the Prophets, saying that the United States was involved in Iran, and that Trump had resorted to the leaders of some countries to get out of the war.
This comes as the United States and Israel have been continuing their aggression against Iran since February 28, 2026, amid regional fears that the war could spiral out of control and a ground invasion of Iran in light of the continuous US buildup of its forces in the Middle East.
A few days ago, Trump threatened to destroy Iran’s energy facilities unless it opened the Strait of Hormuz, before suddenly announcing Iranian and American interest in a deal to stop the war.
